Immerse yourself in the breathtaking surroundings of RHS Garden Wisley, the historic home of the Royal Horticultural Society – the world’s favourite gardening charity. With a gardening heritage that took root over 200 years ago, the RHS epitomises the British love of gardens.
Enjoy a memorable journey through distinct areas of the garden – each of which leads into another. Feast your eyes on its most iconic view – the historic Laboratory building and Jellicoe Canal, wander through the traditional English Cottage Garden, the new Exotic Garden and fragrant Rose Gardens, and explore one of the finest Rock Gardens in the world. Get a taste of local flavours as you explore the Orchards, Herb, Fruit and Kitchen Gardens. The magnificent 40ft high Glasshouse is a highlight – as you follow a winding path through tree ferns, lofty palms and dazzling flower displays, it feels like walking into a jungle.
Why not enhance your visit with a delicious lunch or Garden Cream tea, overlooking the lawns or enjoy a picnic in your own private spot. What better way to end the perfect day than with a stop at the fantastic shop and plant centre.
RHS Hilltop – The Home of Gardening Science will open on 24 June 2021 at RHS Garden Wisley. The centre of horticultural excellence will be a place for us to inspire the next generation of scientists and open up our previously unseen work to visitors.
The spacious atrium at RHS Hilltop will host a permanent exhibition that demonstrates the benefits of gardens for wellbeing and gives tips for creating garden spaces that improve the natural environment in a changing climate.
Our daily ‘Hilltop Live’ programme will give visitors the chance to meet our horticultural, heritage and science teams, hear talks, see demonstrations, share knowledge and participate in object handling sessions.
