At RHS Garden Hyde Hall, you’ll find an eclectic mix of horticultural styles to suit all tastes. Highlights include the Hilltop Garden, which is quintessentially English with ponds, borders and lush green lawns. In stark contrast, the Australian and New Zealand Garden has a modern contemporary feel, accentuated by a raised circular area with stylish oak seating. Being located in one of the driest areas of the UK, Hyde Hall champions water efficient gardening, and the renowned Dry Garden showcases a fantastic range of drought tolerant plants. Clover Hill is profoundly naturalistic, with vast swathes of grasses and perennials. The colours on the upper beds are predominantly warm oranges, deep purples and dark pinks, whilst the lower beds begin to fade into softer pastel colours to blend into the surrounding landscape.
The borders sweep down the hill to meet the Courtyard Gardens you will find two distinct areas - a traditional cottage garden and a modern country garden. Recent additions include the Global Growth Vegetable Garden, which contains fruit and vegetables from around the world and the wonderful new Winter Garden celebrating radiant stem colours, peeling barks and luminous leaf colours.
Facilities include a licensed restaurant, café, picnic areas, gift shop and garden centre and garden library. There is also a mobility vehicle that provides a shuttle service to the main garden. Throughout the year, the garden organises a range of events from craft fairs and sculpture trails to food festivals and flower shows.
